In this weekend workshop Suze will bring together psychology, yoga and the nervous system and offer you insight in how they are all related. Giving you the knowledge needed to apply your practice intelligently toward creating an experience of wellbeing and thriving in your daily life.

Life offers us a broad range of experiences. In the last decades the amount of impulses and possibilities that come at us on a daily basis is higher and faster than ever. Combined with a cultural sense of being personally responsible for your wealth and wellbeing, a sense of overwhelm is quite common to the point that even your yoga practice can become another thing to accomplish or get done.

This workshop will allow you to look at your life, your emotions, and thought processes through the lens of the nervous system and the subconscious processes in your brain. By creating awareness of the lens that we look through when we look at ourselves and the world we live in, we can cultivate (self)compassion and rediscover the incredible resilience that we are all born with.

Day 1: Yoga, Psychology & The Nervous System

The first day of the workshop is dedicated to offering you a broader understanding of the nervous system and how its autonomous actions influence our thought processes, behavior, and wellbeing. The theory will be put to practice through yoga asana, pranayama, and other exercises that allow you experience grounding and tension release through the body.

Highlights:
- Learn about the nervous system, poly-vagal theory and the vagus nerve and relate the theory to your daily life
- Practice grounding, embodiment and healthy boundaries
- Learn how tension and trauma settles and manifests itself in the body and how you can use it as stepping stone for personal growth and evolution.

Day 2: The Subconscious, Rest & Healing

On day two you will learn about the relationship between the subconscious, meditative practices, and rest. This day will offer you a theoretic framework that gives a greater understanding of the workings of our brain and subconscious and how we can apply practices like yoga nidra in a healing way. Besides theory you will experience several yoga nidra. You will have space to explore the compassion and healing that is a natural result of deep rest and gentle self-reflection on your subconscious belief patterns.

- learn about sleep cycles and how you can optimize both your sleep practice and your yoga nidra practice
- explore compassion and gentle self-reflection as a foundation for your practice
